We make the restorations here in our office, and there is no need for an impression, temporary restoration, follow up appointment, needing multiple doses of anesthesia. The blocks can be milled into inlays, onlays, crowns, veneers, bridges, resin bonded bridges, and implant crowns. They come in blocks of all different strengths, colors, opacities, and materials. There are many different typed of materials that can be milled on a CEREC milling machine. Each restoration is designed custom to each patient and the needs of their mouth and bite. Once the restoration is milled and the fit is verified, the restoration is polished and it is bonded in place. The restoration is milled from a high-strength, all ceramic material. The design is then sent to our CEREC milling unit. Reilly then, using the CEREC software, designs a restoration specifically for your tooth. The images from the camera generate a 3D model of the teeth. Once the tooth is prepared, the tooth is rescanned. Reilly will carefully remove decay, old filling material, and any weakened tooth structure. The first step in making a CEREC restoration is to scan the teeth with a special camera.
